African Bullfrog at CT Wildlife Center

Jupiter

The African Bullfrog

Jupiter arrived to the Center in 2014 after he became an unwanted pet. Currently, Jupiter is approximately 5 inches across, but his growth is not yet complete. African Bullfrogs are the second largest frog in the world, with the Goliath Bullfrog in first place. In the next few years Jupiter will grow to an impressive size of approximately 4 pounds and 10 inches across. Jupiter also has two lower teeth that allows him to grab large prey items and pull them into his mouth. Although, he is quite the impressive frog they make difficult pets due to their care and diet requirements.
