The Connecticut Wildlife Center facilities are located across two campuses within CT, The Children’s Museum in West Hartford and Roaring Brook Nature Center in Canton.

The largest portion of the Connecticut Wildlife Center is located on the campus of The Children’s Museum in West Hartford CT. It is home to well over 130 individual animals spanning 80+ species.

With indoor and outdoor enclosures for its permanent residents the Center encompasses our Turtle Town, Lizard Lair and a seasonal Butterfly House. Additionally the Museum offers hands-on fun with science and nature for younger children and families with a range of interactive exhibits, a Planetarium and a PreSchool.

Roaring Brook Nature Center

The Canton location, located on the campus of our Roaring Brook Nature Center, includes indoor and outdoor enclosures for the permanent animals and wildlife undergoing rehabilitation, a raptor enclosure area and wildlife rehabilitation clinic which is currently viewed by appointment only.

The site also has an interpretive building that explains changing land and wildlife in Connecticut, an outdoor Native Plants Butterfly Garden, Senses Garden, Geology Garden, Vernal Pool Observation Deck and is adjacent to over 160 protected acres of state-owned land on which it maintains 5+ miles of trails .
